A liquid substance containing nutrients in which microorganisms such as spirulina and many other types of algae are cultivated either for research or for commercial grow cycles.

Feeding formula is normally used after harvesting of spirulina and might have a different nutrients composition.

Spirulina platensis can be grown in nutrients present in Zarrouk’s medium (SM), SM6, and few more formulas available with cheap and locally available commercial fertilizers and chemicals.
